Q: When is a double flowmeter used?

A double flowmeter is used when the existing medical gas outlets in a ward are not sufficient for the number of patients requiring oxygen therapy. It allows two independent oxygen flowmeters to be connected to a single medical gas outlet, enabling safe oxygen delivery to two patients from the same source.

Q: What flow rate range is available?

Most double flowmeters offer standard medical oxygen flow ranges, typically 0–15 LPM on each side. Silbermann also offers a low-flow model with a 0–7 LPM range.

Q: What oxygen sources can it connect to?

Silbermann’s double flowmeter connects to a wall-mounted medical gas outlet for oxygen or air. It offers two connection options: direct connection to the wall outlet or rail-mounted installation. In the rail-mounted configuration, the unit includes a 1-meter plastic tube with a probe for easy connection to the gas outlet.

Q: What safety features does it include?

The double flowmeter includes an anti-backflow design, shatter-resistant flow tubes, clearly marked scales, and independent shut-off valves for each side.

Q: Can I use two different flow rates at the same time?

Yes. Each side of the double flowmeter is independently adjusted, so one patient can receive 2 LPM while another patient receives 10 LPM from the same medical gas source.

The Double flowmeter is used in areas where the medical gas infrastructure isn’t sufficient for the ward requirements.

The flowmeters are unbreakable, with top cover and measuring tube made of clear transparent polycarbonate.

Our flowmeters can be connected directly to the gas outlet or mounted on a hanging rail to the gas outlet via 1-meter plastic tubing and a probe.
